The best workout if you have no money

As promised in an earlier post, the most efficient workout if you have no time, here’s the best workout if you have no money.

I thought long and hard about this one. There really are so many options out there to look at that will give you some results. But I finally chose one fitness program to share with you that I can truly say will give you the best workout, for free.

My criteria for recommending a workout was really strict.

  • It has to be free.
  • Bodyweight with no special equipment.
  • You should be able to do it anywhere.
  • It has to be doable for all ages.
  • It has to be ‘tweakable’ for all fitness levels, and will give you a good progression.
  • It has to be full body, not just focusing on arms or any specific body parts.
  • It should give real world strength and not focusing on just aesthetics.

So here it is.

The most efficient workout if you have no time

As promised in my last post about losing fat, here’s my post about exercise.

So…You’ve decided you want to get back into shape? Good job! Unfortunately you, like everyone else, is strained for time.

Let me describe an average day:

  1. Wake up early in the morning late. Get ready Rush to work.
  2. Travel time to work is 1-1.5 hrs because of rush hour traffic.
  3. You answer emails, have meetings, do some real work, surf the net for 8-10 hours.
  4. Something urgent comes up… you have to work overtime.
  5. Leave the office 7 or 8pm. Take another 1 hour to get home.
  6. Eat dinner.
  7. Facebook+Twitter+Blogs+Internet+Downloaded Movie or Series.
  8. Go to bed when your eyes are too tired to look at your phone/tablet/computer/TV.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8.

Does this sound familiar? We’ve all had days like this. How could you ever fit a workout into a schedule like that?

Let me tell you now… It’s possible!

Here’s a workout that mixes strength training, an elevated heart rate, and compound movements to train your whole body. All with one move. Are you ready? Keep reading…

How to lose fat: 2 Choices and 1 Non-negotiable

I’m writing this post to help you. If you made the decision at the start of the year to get in better shape, to lose your flab, to build some muscle, etc…, then this post is for you.

Last year was my year. In 9 months I lost an estimated 15 lbs of fat, and gained around 10-12 lbs of muscle. I am now about to buy new belts and new pants because the ones I have are really loose. It may not seem much to some, but for me it’s a big achievement. I took control of my body, changed my lifestyle, turned it all around.

Please don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean to brag or anything. I don’t think I did anything superhuman. But it was a lot of hard work. Now I can confidently say that I can carry my wife and 2 daughters out a burning building.

I just want to share my experience to help anyone else who wants to have the same confidence. Here’s exactly what I did.

I fasted 47 hours last week

Well not all at once. If you read my previous post, you’ll see my what my plan to start fasting was. I also wrote why I wanted to start fasting, as well as the initial research I did about it.

All in all, my first week was a good experience, and I’m gonna do it again this week. Here’s a rough story of my fasting experience last week.

I’m gonna try some fasting

Last Sunday at church, the pastor talked about Spiritual Fasting. I knew I wanted to experience the spiritual benefits. But still, I’ve been eating 6x a day since March! I was unsure how it would fit into my workout / fitness regime. So I did some research about how other people do it. Here’s what I found out:

How to get stronger in life

Although I’ve written a lot about the body, a lot of the principles in building physical strength also applies to other areas. In the same way that you can strengthen your arms and legs, you can also improve your ability to make decisions, to endure change, or even to find (and stick to) your life’s purpose and direction. If you apply these principles to the other parts of your life, you will have a stronger life. Besides, maintenance is boring. I want to get stronger. To get better!
